Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground meat (beef, pork, chicken, or turkey)
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Wooden or metal skewers
  • Your favorite sauce (marinara, barbecue, tzatziki, etc.)

Optional Extras

  • Cherry tomatoes
  • Basil leaves
  • Small mozzarella balls

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Meatball Mixture: In a large bowl, combine the ground meat, bread crumbs, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, fresh parsley, grated Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until all ingredients are evenly incorporated, being careful not to overmix to maintain tender meatballs.
  2. Form the Mini Meatballs: Pinch off small portions of the mixture and roll them into bite-sized balls, about the size of a walnut or smaller for easy skewering. Place them on a lined baking sheet as you go.
  3. Cook the Meatballs: Bake the mini meatballs in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for 12-15 minutes, or until cooked through and golden brown. Alternatively, pan-fry them in a little oil until the exterior is crispy and meatballs are cooked through.
  4. Assemble the Skewers: Thread 3-4 cooked mini meatballs onto each skewer. Add optional extras such as cherry tomatoes, basil leaves, or small mozzarella balls to create a colorful and flavorful bite.
  5. Serve with Sauce: Garnish the skewers with freshly chopped herbs and serve alongside your favorite dipping sauces like marinara, tzatziki, or barbecue sauce for extra zest.

Notes

  • Keep meat cold before mixing to facilitate shaping and improve texture.
  • Use fine bread crumbs to bind the mixture smoothly without crumbling.
  • Do not overcrowd the baking tray; leave space between meatballs for even cooking.
  • Cook a test meatball first to adjust seasoning if necessary before shaping all of them.
  • Lightly brush sauce on finished skewers for an attractive, polished presentation when serving at parties.
