Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 fat content)
  • 3 fresh garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt, to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Buns and Toppings

  • 4 soft, buttery burger buns
  • 2 tablespoons butter (for toasting buns)
  • 4 teaspoons mayonnaise or aioli
  • 4 lettuce leaves
  • 4 slices fresh tomato

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Garlic Parmesan Mixture: Mince fresh garlic cloves finely and mix with freshly grated Parmesan cheese in a small bowl. This mixture will be spread over the patties for flavor.
  2. Shape the Patties: In a large bowl, gently combine ground beef with salt and freshly ground black pepper. Divide into four equal portions and shape into thick, even patties. Press a small indentation in the center of each to ensure even cooking.
  3. Cook the Patties: Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook patties for about 4 minutes on one side, then flip and evenly spread the garlic Parmesan mixture on top. Continue cooking for another 3-4 minutes until cheese melts and patties reach desired doneness.
  4. Toast the Buns: While patties finish cooking, butter the inside of the burger buns lightly and toast them on the grill or skillet until golden brown and slightly crispy.
  5. Assemble the Cheeseburgers: Spread mayonnaise or aioli on the toasted buns, layer with lettuce leaves and tomato slices, add the cooked patties topped with melted garlic Parmesan cheese, then crown with the top bun. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Don’t overwork the ground beef to keep patties tender.
  • Use freshly grated Parmesan for better melting and sharper flavor.
  • Indent patties in the center to prevent puffing during cooking.
  • Allow patties to rest a few minutes after cooking to lock in juices.
  • Cook over high heat to get a delicious crust without overcooking.
