  • 60g breadcrumbs (or gluten-free alternative: ground oats or almond flour)
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp mustard
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp butter or oil (for frying)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Ingredients: Finely chop the onions and fresh parsley. Optionally, soften the onions slightly in a pan for milder flavor. Gather the ground beef and pork in a large mixing bowl.
  2. Mix the Meat and Seasonings: Add the chopped onions, parsley, breadcrumbs, egg, mustard, salt, and pepper to the meat. Gently combine everything with your hands or a sturdy spoon, being careful not to overmix to maintain tenderness.
  3. Shape the Patties: Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape each into oval or round patties about the size of your palm, aiming for consistent thickness for even cooking.
  4. Fry to Perfection: Heat butter or oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Fry the patties for 4–5 minutes on each side, turning carefully until golden brown and cooked through. The exterior should be crispy, while the inside remains juicy.
  5. Rest and Serve: Place the cooked Frikadellen on paper towels briefly to drain excess oil. Serve hot with your favorite sides or sauces.

  • Use a meat blend of pork and beef for juicier, more flavorful patties.
  • Don’t overwork the meat to avoid dense texture—mix gently.
  • If the mixture feels soft, chill it in the refrigerator for 20 minutes to firm up before shaping.
