Versatile and family-friendly, it can be customized with veggies, different proteins, or pasta types to suit your tastes.

Ingredients

Scale

Protein

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

Pasta

  • 12 ounces fettuccine pasta

Sauce

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste

Garnish

  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chicken: Slice the chicken breasts into even pieces or strips to ensure even cooking. Season lightly with salt and pepper. In a skillet over medium heat, sauté the chicken in butter until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from skillet and set aside to keep juicy and tender.
  2. Cook the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook fettuccine according to package instructions until al dente. Drain the pasta, reserving some pasta water to adjust sauce consistency later.
  3. Make the Alfredo Sauce: In the same skillet used for the chicken, melt butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant. Slowly pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Gradually add freshly grated Parmesan cheese while stirring constantly until sauce thickens to a creamy texture. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Combine Everything: Return the cooked chicken to the skillet and stir to coat with sauce. Add the drained pasta and gently toss everything together. If the sauce is too thick, add a splash of reserved pasta water to loosen it up.
  5. Garnish and Serve: Plate the creamy chicken Alfredo, sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley for color and freshness, and serve immediately to enjoy optimal flavor and texture.

Notes

  • Use freshly grated Parmesan for a smooth, creamy sauce; pre-grated cheese doesn’t melt as well.
  • Do not overcook chicken; cook just until no longer pink to keep it juicy and tender.
  • Simmer the sauce gently, avoiding boiling to prevent curdling and maintain silky texture.
  • Reserve pasta water to adjust sauce consistency and help sauce cling to pasta.
  • Serve immediately as Alfredo sauce thickens when cooling.
