Ingredients

Scale

Bread Base and Seasonings

  • 1 can refrigerated biscuit dough (about 10 biscuits)
  • 4 tbsp butter, melted
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning

Chicken and Sauce

  • 2 cups cooked chicken breast, shredded or diced
  • 1 cup Alfredo sauce (homemade or store-bought)

Cheeses

  • 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Garnish (optional)

  • Fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chicken and Sauce: Shred or dice cooked chicken breast into bite-sized pieces. Warm the Alfredo sauce slightly to facilitate mixing and even distribution throughout the bread.
  2. Cut and Season the Biscuit Dough: Open the refrigerated biscuit dough and cut each biscuit into quarters. Toss the dough pieces in melted butter, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning until evenly coated to infuse each bite with flavor.
  3. Assemble Layers: Grease a bundt or tube pan. Layer the seasoned biscuit dough pieces, chicken, mozzarella cheese, and spoonfuls of Alfredo sauce, repeating layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of cheese on top to create a bubbly, golden finish when baked.
  4. Bake to Perfection: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the assembled monkey bread for 30-35 minutes, until the bread is golden brown and cooked through, and the cheese is melted and bubbly, binding the layers together.
  5. Cool and Serve: Allow the monkey bread to cool in the pan for 5-10 minutes, then invert onto a serving plate. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired and serve warm to enjoy the gooey, cheesy texture to the fullest.

Notes

  • Use quality Alfredo sauce (homemade or store-bought) for best flavor.
  • Do not overcrowd the pan to allow dough expansion and even baking.
  • Check baking time around 30 minutes to avoid drying out; bread edges should be golden, center moist.
  • Add mozzarella and Parmesan cheese throughout layers, not just on top, for consistent cheesy pull.
  • Use pre-cooked chicken to save time and ensure tenderness.
  • Let the monkey bread rest after baking to help the layers set and hold together.
